Joseph Geraghty Obituary

GERAGHTY - Joseph F., on October 12, 2008 of Tarpon Springs, FL and Bayville, N.Y. Beloved husband of the late Marcella. In 1991 he married Madeline O'Connell who predeceased him in 2005. Dear father of Brian (Donna), and Patricia (Robert) Forte, cherished grandfather of Bridget, Michelle, Megan, Gary, Jennifer, and John. Brother of Vincent P. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as his step-children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren from Joseph's marriage to Madeline. He was an honorably discharged WWII veteran with the Navy Seabees. Retired FDNY 1961, former real estate agent, and operator of Geraghty Real Estate Agency. Past President of Bayville Chamber of Commerce, 61 year Member of the K of C and 4th Degree Knight., St. Gertrude's Holy Name Society, Bayville American Legion. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home Inc., 293 South Street, Oyster Bay. Funeral Mass Friday 10:30am St. Gertrude's R.C.Church of which he was a lifelong member. My condolences to Joe's family. He was a gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. He always had a sharp witty way of getting around a sensitive negotiating situation.
