Shirley, It is hard to believe it has been over a year since we lost you. You should be comforted to know that although you are gone you still are felt in my heart and mind. You have made a difference in my life that will last an eternity. After my time on earth is done I will hopefully pass on that something special you gave me to someone else.

Shirley will be remembered for her compassion and ability to reach outside of herself and make you feel she really understood you. She also made the best butterscotch pies for the holidays. We will miss her dearly.

Shirley Zapf was a wonderful neighbor and friend for the many years that I lived on Long Island. She had a wonderful family - a loving & faithful husband John and three of the greatest children, Karen, Debbie & John. I know how much she adored her grand-children. We kept in touch but saw each other only occasionally. I know her family will truly miss her because of her kindness and love for them. I will miss her too knowing that she isn't there to talk to on the phone or by e-mail. She was a very good person and I have already startied to pray for her this week when I heard that she was so ill. Shirley, I won't forget you.
