Thinking about you still. We used to wait outside of math class in middle school before the teacher came and I used to tell you jokes and make you laugh. You were so sweet. I'm glad I got to make you smile.

When you lost a love one in death. the pain, the grief, and the feelings of helplessness can seem unbearable. at such times, we need to go to God's word for comfort. 2corintians 1:3,4. the bible help us to understand how jehovah and Jesus feel about death.Jesus, who perfectly reflected his father, knew the pain of losing someone in death.

Hi, my name is Cassie Ardern, and Lauren babysitted for me often when I was a little girl in elementary school. To this day Lauren is my inspiration to be a good person and to be strong in my walk of faith with God. Lauren, I admired you so much. You were a young teenager who played games with an 8 year old and enjoyed it at the same time. You would pick me up from swim practice and be playing K-Love constantly. You were so kind and loving to me. I'm 16 now and babysitting, and somedays I don't understand how you did it. I love you like the sister I never had, and I'm sure you felt the same. You are my role model. I don't understand why you're gone, because you would've changed the world. Someday I'll ask you and I'm sure you'll explain it all. I am so certain you are the happiest you've ever been right now, back home with the Father. I miss you so much. So does Snowy :)

I did read the book you wrote for Lauren. I am amazed at your faith. The book was such a wonderful tribute. I lent it to a new communicant in my church, and to another who was having faith problems. Just wanted you to know that you have reached into NJ with your strong faith. I pray for you and Lauren, when I go to Mass. I wish you Peace this Holiday Season. Also my daugher graduated Tech in May 2007

Right after the April 16 tragedy occurred, it was mentioned that years later only the shooter's name would be remembered...that most people wouldn't be able to remember the names of the victims. It was suggested that people choose one name and life to remember...I chose Lauren. As a graduate of Virginia Tech, Class of '87, I chose to remember Lauren for several reasons. I also attended Campus Crusade for Christ meetings as a student, and I was touched by watching the videos of her giving her testimony. Even though I never met her, I am inspired by her legacy.
May God bless and comfort Lauren's family and friends...

Just a note to the Body of Christ, and especially those who knew Lauren personally, who miss her each and every day:
On the night of His betrayal, our Lord took bread, and after giving thanks, he broke it, and referred to the bread as His body ... and then made a simple request: That each time we break bread, that we remember Him.
He repeated this request after supper. He referred to the wine as His blood, and again asked us ... each time that we drink ... to remember Him.
Jesus Christ lived in Lauren Mccain. He burned bright in her heart. Those who met her saw the love of Christ in her eyes.
Each time we remember Lauren, we remember Jesus ... and we are obedient to our Lord's command to remember Him.

I have read Lifting Our Eyes many times. I to have a great relationship with our heavenly father. I daily try to share the great message that Lauren shared with everyone. She will continue to bless and touch many lives. I'm thankful for meeti9ng her on two occasions in her life thru her cousins. I was touched by her smile and love for the lord. She was born on the same day as my daugher Elizabeth. Lauren turned 23 on the 20th Dec 2009 and my dausghter is just four years younger. Thanks you for all you have done and with the wonderful parenthood you provided lauren. I know if she had meet this young man she would have changed the outcome of 16 April 2007 (this happens to be my sisters birhtday). I will always have Lauren in my heart and I know she is an angel to many. Just wished the Lord had allowed her to remain on earth to continue her great Journey. God is Good all the time.

I never met Lauren, but i am very close friends with one of her best friends from here in Hampton. Only good words about her come from their mouths, and everytime they speak of her tears come to their eyes. I can only imagine what she was really like, and how well she effected those around her with the positive and fun attitude she brought. Thoughts and Prayers are with family and friends. We will be seeing you soon once we enter the gates of Heaven.

In April 2007, I purchased a copy of People Magazine, which had an article with individual tributes to those who died. Lauren McCain's words from her myspace account were published and have been with me ever since. I kept the article, and just now have felt the inspiration to write an "Invitation to Salvation" bible study, around her words. Writing Bible Studies for my group, and writing sermons to do at church during special events, has been a hobby of mine throughout high school, college, and now grad school. God clearly had a plan in me keeping and finding this article. His timing is perfect, and Lauren's words will continue to touch people and serve as a tool to invite them to explore the word. I am so glad she decided to follow him. And let me say this- Georgia Tech still grieves with you, Virginia Tech. May God Bless you all.

I just finished reading LIFTING OUR EYES, which I purchased several months ago, but never read. My son is a sophomore at VT (he wasn't there in Spring '07), and I wanted to feel more "connected" to those who were lost. Lauren's love of God is astounding. I continue to seek a relationship that is similarly close to our heavenly Father. She has and will continue to touch many lives. Thank you for sharing her story, as well as your own love for the Lord.

I NEVER MET LAUREN BUT I AM A MOM OF 2 WONDERFUL GIRLS. ONE OF THEM SUFFERS FROM DYSLEXIA AND COULD NOT MAKE IT IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM SO I HOMESCHOOL HER AND SOME OF MY FAMILY DOES NOT AGREE WITH IT. IN PASSING AS I WAS READING THE BOOK "LIFTING YOUR EYES" I NOTICED THAT LAUREN WAS HOMESCHOOLED AND WHAT A WONDERFUL YOUNG WOMAN SHE WAS. I ALWAYS WORRY ABOUT THINGS WITH MY YOUNGEST BUT SHE REMINDS ME ALOT OF YOUR LAUREN. HER LOVE FOR THE LORD IS SO EVIDENT TO THOSE AROUND HER AND HE HAS HELPED HER TO SEE THAT EVEN THOUGH SHE IS DIFFERENT SHE IS NEVER ALONE IN HER JOURNEY FOR HE IS AT HER SIDE. I AM SO SAD FOR YOUR LOSS BUT I LOVE IT WHEN YOU SAID THAT THE WORSE SCENARIO FOR YOU WAS THE BEST THING FOR LAUREN. I AM A FELLOW CHRISTIAN AND WHEN I GET TO HEAVEN I HOPE I GET THE PRIVILEGE TO MEET LAUREN AND I FEEL TRULY BLESSED TO HAVE GOTTEN TO KNOW A LITTLE OF HER LIFE STORY. I WILL PRAY FOR YOUR CONTINUED PEACE AND I ASK FOR YOUR PRAYERS AS ME AND MY DAUGHTER CONTINUE ON OUR HOMESCHOOLING JOURNEY.
