I just recieved the latest edition of Loyola Magazine and was shocked and saddened to hear of Steve's passing. Steve and I were roommates for a year at Loyola and though we didn't keep in touch after college, his passing truly saddens me. Steve had the uncanny ability to make people laugh and always feel good. His light was warm and bright and will continue to shine in all that knew him. My deepest sympathies go to his family and friends. Thoughts and prayers are with you all. I will remember his smile and his kindness.

I am so sorry to hear about Steve's death. I was with much of the Charlottesville corrosion group for a wedding last month. We were just telling stories about how he didn't have a mean bone in his body.

Dear Bognaski Family,
Steve was one of the first--and finest--people I met at Perry Hall High School. His smile and laugh were larger than life. We were friends for a long time, catching up over school breaks and visits home to Perry Hall. Somehow we lost touch, and I deeply regret that I never got to meet Leslie, Natalie, and Ryan. What I know is that we are all so much better for having had Steve in our lives. My sincere sympathy goes out for your loss; it is truly a loss for all whose lives Steve touched. I am sorry I didn't find out about his passing in time to make the trip for his funeral; I would have been honored to attend.
You are in my thoughts.
Sincerely,
Aubrey (Eastridge) Zinn

Leslie, Ryan and Natalie,
As you can tell from all who have signed this guestbook, you, Steve and your family have touched our lives. We still miss you here in Gastonia. And, the loss of Steve to this earthly world is shocking and heartwrenching beyond words. The image will forever be held in my memory of Steve carrying Ryan on his shoulders as they often explored the yard and woods and various creatures out and about. He was a loving father and devoted husband - an honorable man. Know that now he rests in the arms of Jesus - happy and safe. You and the kids are in our thoughts and prayers and if there is even the smallest thing we can do to help, we are here for you...
