Danny was a great guy. I didnt know him for very long but he made Nicole very happy and I loved him for that. I didnt particularly like when he beat me in pool but I knew it was gonna happen cause he was great at it. My heart goes out to his family and friends...especially his daughters. Know your father was a great man and listen to the song "Zoey Jane" by Staind. He told me that that song was for the two of you.

Oh the wonder of God’s love!

It descends like a dove

So gentle and soft

And stays there aloft.

It surrounds us with peace

And give us wondrous release.

He lets us abide there

While giving of a love that has no compare.

We as His children can in His lap

Climb up without fear of any mishap.

He as a Father holds His arms out wide

Saying, "Come, in My love you can abide.

I will be your protection and shield

And in the face of your enemy, I will never yield.

You are my child, my dear one.

I fought for you and won!"

So surrender your heart to my Lord.

He will always give His love in very sweet accord.

My Lord’s eyes are so deep, so full of love.

A love so much larger than the universe.

His eyes are on us all

Even the smallest and least significant.

His eyes reflect a longing, a desire

To draw each one of us to Him

To heal us and make us whole.

He never asks us to become better

To clean up our act

Before coming to Him.

But to come just as we are

No matter how much sin is in our lives.

He seeks us out, here, there, and everywhere.

His heart breaking, bleeding for each of us.

He wants to make us whole

And make us into His image.

Maybe someday, we too will reflect

All that love coming down from above

And draw those around us

To our Father’s heart

And all the heavenly blessings

He has awaiting on each of us to bestow.

The Beauty of God’s World

There is so much beauty in this world to see

I am sure that if you look around you’ll agree

It can be seen in the sparkle of a child’s eye

Or in the soft and gentle flight of a butterfly

A gentle breeze swiftly wending through a tree

The zigzagging journey of a bee

The bright red color of a rose

Or how about a humming bird zipping here and there

A meadow soft and green with a friend you share

The deer who by the water pauses

A cat after a nap stretching out it claws

An eagle flying so very high

Or the dawn as a new day draws nigh

The redwood tree majestic and tall

The tiny little lady bug so small

A rainbow with its beautiful hues

A newborn babe in his mothers arms taking a snooze

A garden after the rain has ceased

The perfume a flower does release

But with all this beauty all around

There’s nothing to compare with God’s love that abounds

He created all these things

Of which nature itself heartily sings

He made them for everyone of us to enjoy

To pause and refresh ourselves from our employ

And if as we go about taking all this in

Our Father we forget to thank, it is our sin

So take a moment and do pray

To thank our gracious Father each and every day

As I ponder the wonders of

Our awesome Lord

I can’t help but feel humbled

By the many blessings

Our precious Lord has bestowed

On each and every one of us

I look around and see

The beauty of puffy white clouds

In an azure blue sky

I hear the twittering

Of many birds singing with joy

I smell the perfume

Of splendid blooms in all their glory

And I feel the precious love

Of each child I teach

As each of these things come to mind

I am reminded of the burden

That the Lord has placed upon me

I humbly bow and ask

For wisdom in the words I speak

Compassion for all around me

A new appreciation for all God has created

A fresh perspective on words I read

For joy to rise anew within my heart

To allow His love to shine forth

So that all I meet can clearly see

The mantle of my Lord all around me

With heartfelt gratefulness

I thank the Father for my life

And for those I meet

For His provision

Of my every need

For the beauty that surrounds me

And for His word that teaches me

But most of all

I thank Him for

The precious gift of Jesus

And that He loves each of us enough

To have sacrificed His only Son

Just to provide a way

That we may someday

Be reunited with our creator.

Oh the wonderment!

Oh the amazement!

There are so many.

I’m so unworthy!

God speak through me?

How can this be?

People will see!

The sensation’s so real.

The emotions I feel!

God speak through me?

It starts with a word.

I think, "How absurd!"

I am one of the least.

But the thoughts haven’t ceased.

God speak through me?

I put the feelings aside.

Take the moment in stride.

One deep breath and a sigh.

I know my God is nigh!

God spoke through me!

Honor your heavenly Father

Praise Him everyday

Speak to Him as a friend

Spend time surrounded by His love

Respect Him in all that you do

Trust Him for all that you need

Believe in His promise

A heavenly home that’s soon to come

Hope beyond hope, dream above dreams

All comes together in the end

A future so glorious we cannot comprehend
What would Jesus do

If He walked on earth again?

How would He perceive

All our busyness as we go about our day?

Would He accompany the lonely man

Who at the end of a harried day

Ends in the local bar?

Would He seek out the woman

Who is considering an abortion

And comfort her misery?

Would he be a companion

To the homeless and wander

Here and there seeking a little refuge?

Would He hold the hungry child

As hunger pangs knaw away at him

In all his suffering?

Or would He ignore, calmly look away

So as to not be confronted by the pain, the misery

And all the loneliness?

Would he sit in a church sanctuary

On a Sunday morning

Looking pious and justified?

Would He as many do

Go about His business each day

Ignoring all the suffering

Found everywhere around Him?

Would He try to climb the corporate ladder

As He amasses all the riches

To share with none?

Would He look with disdain

Upon the poor, the prisoner

The addict and the drunk?

Not the Jesus that I know!

Not the Lord of Peace and Love!

Why is it we are so impatient

For the answer to our prayer

Each time we petition the Lord?

And why is it we are so unhappy

When that answer isn’t the one

That we thought was right for us?

Have we all forgotten that God

Is our loving Father and always knows

What is the best way to answer those prayers?

Do we need to be reminded constantly

That the Lord knows all our needs

Even before we cry out to Him?

Why can’t we be content

And accept the way God works things out?

We often think we know the best answer

And try to manipulate

And bargain with the Lord

If only He would see things our way.

But like the loving Father that He is

He gives us what we really need.

Not what our selfish minds think we should have.

All of us need to learn to accept God’s way

And put aside our "me first" attitudes.

Our Lord Jesus gave us the greatest example

When in the garden He asked the Father

To spare His life and find another way.

But when the Father said

The sacrifice He must make

Our Lord Jesus accepted

And said these simple words

"Not my will but thine".

The Father gives to each

The perfect answer for each prayer

And He gives it in perfect timing.

Let’s all endeavor to say

"Not my will but thine"

no matter the answer He gives.
Touch me Lord

And fill me up

Let me feel

Your love anew

Teach me Lord

In all Your ways

Help me to see

New meaning in Your words

Lead me Lord

Up that narrow path

Keep me from falling

But pick me when I do

Guide me Lord

To Your eternal throne

Hold me in Your hand

And far from sin’s demands

Heal me Lord

From all my pain

Make me whole again

That I may serve you worthily

Thank you Lord

For listening to my heart cries

For providing my every need

And for the love You always give

Amen and Amen!
As I walk down the street

I see people trying to hide their fear

And pretending they aren’t afraid.

They blithely go about their busy day

Acting as if they don’t need anyone

Or help from anywhere.

When will they wake up

And see the light before their eyes?

How can they continue on

Without the seeking the love of the Lord?

When will they acknowledge

The only one who can give them

The peace they so desperately seek?

When will they tear down the façade?

Humble themselves and ask forgiveness

From our loving Father above?

He longingly reaches out

Freely offering His grace

To all who sincerely seek Him.

Instead they continue in their pride,

Pretending they are all they need.

Holding in the pain and sorrow,

Wearing a smile on their face.

Patching the wounds with worldly vices,

Continuing on with their broken hearts.

Oh Lord, open their eyes,

Reach into their hearts,

Help each one to finally see,

People desperately need You Lord!

Blessed Be This Day

Blessed be this day

For the Lord, in His goodness

Has given us this day

He has given us freely

Of His love and grace

And taken care of our every need

His creation shows us in its display

How awesome and wondrous He is

He holds our world suspended

In dark space so vast

And shines his light upon us

He breathes His breath of life upon us

Each moment of the day

That we may be a beacon

That draws the lost to Him

He knows our every thought

And sees each tear that falls

When trials and tribulations

Batter our lives and minds

In His loving graciousness

He turns our enemy’s fiery darts

Into arrows of blessings

For all the world to see

He does not promise

That in this earthly life

Our path will be smooth and trouble free

But He does promise to walk beside us

Guiding us through each peril

And in the end when life’s last breath

Has left our earthly shell

He will snatch us from

Our vile foe’s ensnaring grasp

Taking us swiftly to sit in heavenly places

So, if the Lord, in His graciousness

Has granted you another day

To walk upon this earthly orb

Direct your sight and mind

Towards heaven and declare

BLESSED BE THIS DAY!
When adversity comes near

When signs that bring fear

Come creeping into your mind

When the giants of adverse change

Are looming on your horizon

Don’t let them cause worry

Don’t let them make you shake with fright

Instead, look to the solid rock

Turn to the One who can bring

Bright rays of light

Shining through the darkest gloom

To Him speak of your fears

In Him put your trust

Don’t look at those shadows of doom

Don’t let the specter of impending disaster

Take over your life

Put your trust in Him who has

Your future held firmly in His hand

He knows of your worries

He understands your pain

He has seen your tears

When Satan’s darts take aim

Ripping through your wounded heart

Only He has the answers

Only He has the healing balm

To tend those searing wounds

Only He can chase away the fears

Only He can change your doubt

Into new strength and confidence

He can bring peace to your soul

And new joy to your heart

He will raise you up

And set you on a mountain

He will make you a beacon

A light of hope for all to see

He is your hope, your future

He is all that you need

He will provide all things

And He will bless you in so many ways

Just look to Him

Stand on this Solid Rock

He has plans for you

Plans to prosper you

And to give you new hope

He is your King

He is your Savior

And most wonderful of all

He is your friend!
Sing praises to our God!

Sing praises to the Holy One!

Extol His mighty works!

Shout of His glorious deeds!

Let all the earth hear

Of our gracious Lord

Who gives abundantly

Of His riches to those who love Him

And tenderly cares for the down fallen

His compassion knows no bounds

His mercy is boundless

His love is deeper, higher and wider

Than all creation

Sing joyfully all you saints!

Sing and be glad!

Dance and shout HALLELUJAH!

For the Lord is good!
In every church around the world

God has put a shepherd to lead His flock

The shepherd has a special call

Given to him alone

A special duty to perform

A heavy burden to bear

He must be a leader above reproach

Yet always show a tender heart

He is to be an example to all

Showing the way to our Lord

With love and patience at all times

His life isn’t easy and is always too full

All who gaze upon him scrutinize

His every move and uttered word

Many expect him to be perfect

Forgetting he too is only human

And when a mistake he may make

All pass judgment with stern and unforgiving looks

Don’t they realize how difficult it is

To always be the example

To be placed high on a pedestal

With all the world watching and waiting

For just one slip, for him to fall

With the "I told you so"

And "he doesn’t really believe what he preaches"

They go around gossiping and wounding

The one person who needs their support

And loving forgiveness

He is trying to display God’s love

And help us understand all God has given us

Think how difficult it must be

To compose a message that will reach our hearts

Every time we sit to listen to his words.

And what it must be like to sit under judgment

Every moment of his day.

We need to stand behind our shepherd

Uphold him in prayer and give him our love

And forgive him when he does fall

For he is always the one we run to

When troubles come along

From the heavens far away

From His throne there in glory

The Lord reached out His mighty hand

And scooped me from a miry pit

He reached with His loving and gentle touch

Wrapped His strong arms around my soul

He too me up out of my woe

And into my heart did plant

A new song and joy beyond bounds

He saw me small and miserable

Cry out in the deepest agony

Amongst all the petitions and pleas

He felt mine a worthy cause

And granted the very miracle I needed

He showed me where to look and who to call

He gave me friends to fervently pray

And when hope seemed to be fading fast

He provided the answer in the blink of an eye

It humbles me to think of all our Lord does

And I, among the least have felt

His wondrous love and mighty power this day

He’s let me know He’s still there

And about my worries He deeply cares

He’s taught me once again to trust

For He will never turn away

He will always provide for all my needs

He is the God of all with unending power

Yet He has a gentle heart

And reaches out to gently hold

All of His children in His loving arms

And wipes away the pain and tears

And in their place leaves love and joy!
I will praise you, Lord

I will praise in the morning

I will praise you in the night

I will praise you at noontime

I will praise you as I rise

I will praise you when I lay down

I will praise you at work

I will praise you in my leisure

I will praise you in happiness

I will praise you in sorrow

I will praise you in all circumstances

I will praise you with every fiber of my being

As I go about my day

I will extol your wonders

As I lay my head down

I will thank you for your provision

When I am overwhelmed

I will bless your Holy Name

When I am tired, ready to quit

I will look to you for a guiding hand

I will ever seek you, Lord

In everything I do

From the very depths of my heart

I will sing of your love

I will be forever grateful

For your saving grace

I will bow down in humility

Before you glorious throne

For you precious Son

Father, I will ever praise you

I will send forth praises of you

Until I breathe my last breath

And then, my Lord

I will praise you as in your embrace

I am lovingly enfolded
Psalm 23 Paraphrased

My shepherd is my Lord

Lack I will not

My bed He makes of valleys green

And leads me to quiet waters

My soul He refreshes

Down righteous paths He leads me

Just for His name’s sake

Even when I walk through shadowy valleys

I need not fear

Because He is with me

His arms and His love comfort me

A banquet He lays before me

Within sight of my enemies

He pours holy oil upon my head

And fills my cup to the brim

His tender mercy and care

Will be with me all of my days

And I will reside in the Lord’s house

Forever and ever
The Lord is glorious

Come into His presence with thanksgiving

Sing for joy at His name

He is a refuge in times of need

He is a guide to the confused

He is a shelter from the enemy’s fiery darts

Within your heart He plants a seed

Watered it will grow and glorify Him

He who deserves all our praises

Unwatered it will wither and die

Leaving an empty feeling inside

Pour His living water upon that seed

Look, pursue, and find

The Lord is good

Seek and you will find Him

Reach out and He will come

Speak and He listens

Bow down, worship the Lord your God

He who is worthy

Will come to you

Lifting you up

Restoring your hope

Bringing you peace

Give all to the Lord

For He is Lord over all

The battle is His

He is the Most High God

He is Lord of life

He is your ever present comfort

Go, go to Him

Live in Him

Lay down your life

And take up His

Only He can be all you need

Only He can fill your broken heart

Only He can give you eternal life

Praise His holy name

For He is the Lord glorious

Come to Him

Come, and receive His love
When life seems it's darkest

And doom seems to oppress

When nothing looks good

And hope is so distant

Go down on your knees

And pour out your fears

The Lord is always listening

Ever ready to come to your aid

He knows about your suffering

He understands your pain

He sees all your tears

He, too, has experienced pain

He has suffered beyond measure

He has cried so many tears

But He also knows

How to repair your broken heart

How to bind up your wounds

He can return your hope

And bring fresh joy to your heart

Just turn to Him

Lay it all in His hands

He has the solution

He has a plan

He will see you through

Both the thick and the thin

He loves you so much

And has wondrous things

Stored up just for you

So let Him fight the battles

Let Him lighten your soul

Let Him do it

While you rest in His peace.
Inspirations on the breeze

Landing on your ears with ease

Words to encourage and to calm

Quieting your heart like a psalm

The Lord whispers sweet words to you

Giving guidance, helping to know what to do

His words come floating, caressing your soul

Listen carefully, He can make you whole

He tenderly reaches out His hand

Searching for the broken in the land

He longingly desires to embrace

You and all the fears you face

His gentle touch will bring release

Reach out to Him and receive His peace.

Shadows may come

And troubles descend

Despair may fall

And sorrow may follow

Life may become tiresome

The burdens so heavy

But into this murk

Comes a light glowing bright

The hope of our tomorrows

Is shining through the fog

Follow that beacon

And grasp hold of the hope

His guiding hand reaches forth

If we but let Him

Our burdens He will take

The path He has laid open

The road is straight and narrow

Step onto it with faith

Grasp hold with trust

Let God lead you through

All the murk and the mire

Only He can bring you through

Only He can guide your footsteps

He will show you the safe harbor

He will see to your needs

Grasp hold of His hand

He will never let go!
Look to Me! Look to Me! Look to Me!

Do not look left or right.

Do not look backwards or forwards.

Just look to me.

Focus on Me, your loving Father.

I am here, I will always be here.

Do you think I will let you go?

Do you not know your name is always before my eyes?

Do you not know that I love you with a holy love?

My Love never fades.

My love is always the same.

From the beginning I have loved you.

Your name is written upon my hand!

You are my child!

No one can take you from me.

No one can change the way I feel about you!

I will stand by you.

I will provide for you.

I will protect you.

Drop your false shields,

And let Me handle your cares.

Only I can change the circumstances.

Only I can makes things new.

Only I can bring about the desires of your heart!

Look to Me! Look to Me! Look to Me!

Walk With Me

When it appears there isn’t one

To walk by your side

Turn to Me, I am the Son

If the way seems hard

And the day seems long

Come with Me

And sing My song

If you feel bereft

All your loved ones

They have left

Do not feel sad

Do not give up

Nor be dismayed

When you look left and right

And cannot find hope

Nor a friend in sight

Then look up

Turn My way

I am always there

By you side I will stay

There is no need

For you to be afraid

At My feet

Your fears can be laid

When your money is short

Your responsibilities hard

Let Me take it

I do not drop my guard

Come with Me

Take my hand

And you will see

We’ll walk side by side

You and I

For it is for you

That I did die.

For almost 4 years, Danny was a member of our APA, poolplaying family. He will be missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known him. Our deepest sympathies to all of his family and friends.

I met Danny his first year coaching baseball. I was his "mouth" because he was so soft spoken. He was a great role model for the kids and loved his daughters with all he had! I can't help but think how they are going to handle this. Us as adults is hard enough, but I pray that God will help with all of you in this trying time. He will truly be missed.

Bob and Gerti,

Bruce and I want to extend our heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your son. It is during times like this you need the comfort and support of friends and family. I know it seems like the pain will never end but it will and you both will have beautiful memories of the times you shared together. Please if we can do anything for you both, do not hesitate to call us.

Jessica - I haven't known you all that long but I do know you are very close to your family. I got to meet Danny at Riptides one day and he was just as nice and sweet as you are. I know this is a hard time for you and your family. Please know that I am praying for you. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I am here for you for whatever you need. Take care of yourself.

Karen Miles (Wallace)

September 10, 2008

Bob, Gerti, and Jessica I just want to take the time to say how sorry I am to hear about Danny. Danny and myself have shared some special moments as neighbors and friends. I can honestly say it was a shock on Sunday when I recieved the phone call. It was just a few weeks ago that we had agreed to getting together like we did as children and now he is gone. I can honestly say I have good childhood memories that will never be forgotten. If you all need anything please do not hesitate to let my mom or sister know. I will keep you all in my prayers. I think of you all as part of my extended family. You all have been there for my family when we lost my father and when we needed you to. I just want you to know that it is now our turn.

Jessica, Although I never had the pleasure of meeting your brother, I know how close your family is and my heart breaks for your loss. Words are not enough and often seem hollow in a time like this. But know how deeply these words are felt when I say that I am here for you always. You've touched me in the relatively short time I've known you and I can imagine that your brother made others feel the same. Please call me if I can do ANYTHING for you or your family.

It is hard to believe that someone so full of life is no longer with us. Bob, Gerti, Danny, and Jessica have always been a very close, and loving family; they made everyone who came into their home feel like part of the family, too. Please know that all of the people that your family touched is thinking of you during this sad time, and will all be praying for you. Danny will stay forever in our hearts and his memory will live on through the lives of his sweet little girls who he loved so much.

I remember when I 1st met Danny at Virginia T's. He was this little guy that always made you laugh. I remember that smile and the fact that he always had that hat on. We shared many conversations about life and what we wanted for the future. Even though contact was lost and life went on, I took comfort in the fact that he was somewhere doing what he wanted. When I heard he was a dad I smiled. I thought to myself "Good for him, I'm sure he's a wonderful dad." I see from the previous comments I was right. You will be missed Danny and never forgotten. To Danny's family my thoughts are with you at this truly sad time.

The bible says: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in a steal. For where your treasure is , there your heart will be." Matthew 6:19-21
Danny was a treasure to many and our hearts will always be with him in heaven. He will be missed dearly. We will keep Danny and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of Danny and Nicole. The time I spent with Danny and then with both of them as a couple was always a blast. I will always remember Danny's smile, he had a way of making people laugh and enjoy being around him. He was such a devoted father-so proud of his two girls. He was a great poolplayer-saturday nights will not be the same. I will miss him so much!

my heart and deepest sympathys go out to your entire family and circle of close friends .

danny was a wonderful father who truly loved his girls and a great person in general, his presents will be missed at football games where mia cheered in 2006 & 2007 (evergreen athletic association )as well as school where he was also a staple.

it is hard and sometimes we want to question god for his reasons of taking the ones we love or admire but remember we are all here to serve a purpose and we all need to live each day as our last . so always love and show compasion for one another and enjoy life.

we send big hugs and warm thoughts to you all through this difficult time .

While I was only fortunate enough to have met Danny a couple of times, he made a lasting impression. He was open, kind and genuine to me as if he had known me for some time. It is apparent Danny touched many people in a positive way. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Our inability to completely protect and keep from harm those we love is a painful but inherent part of the human condition.

Let solace be taken, however, in knowing that we gave the best we had to our loved one, and that they knew, without an inkling of doubt, that they were deeply loved.

For, beyond all else, that is the greatest gift we give to them, and in turn, the greatest gift they give to us.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

With all our love and support,
Amy, Ray, and Jacob

Danny is one of the most caring and nicest people i have ever been so lucky to have met. He and i met through a mutual friend and during that meeting we realized that we both had alot in common with one another on a more personal level rather than just playing pool. Ever since that night we have been friends. Danny would always ask me first before anything else "how are you and your kids doing"...he always showed concern and even if things werent going so good..just being around him always lifted my spirits. He was always passionate about his pool playing but even more passionate about his friends and those that surrounded him. He was a very loving father who spoke of his 2 girls every single day. He would always flip out the phone showing us all new pictures of them that he had taken. Danny was a good friend that i will truly miss and also one that i am so lucky to have met almost a year ago. He has touched my life deeply and i am very proud to have had him as a friend!!!

We miss you dude
