Helen Jane Wilson Bianchini

Mrs. Helen Jane Wilson Bianchini of the Bronx and Highland Falls died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.

She was born in Front Royal, VA on August 17, 1916 to the late Irvin Wilson and Catherine McGrath Wilson, and was the loving granddaughter of the late William H. and Catherine McGrath of Highland Falls.

Mrs. Bianchini was a graduate of the University of Georgia at Athens, the Eastman School in New York City, and attended the Theodora Irvin Theatrical School in New York. She went on to receive a Master's Degree and began her teaching career in 1957, where she found her true calling, as children were her business. She dedicated 41 years of her life as an educator when she retired in 1998 at the age of 82. She was a member of The Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teacher's Society and an active Alumna of the University of Georgia.

She was a great storyteller as her beloved grandfather was before her and had such a strong passion for life. Here is one of the many sayings that she lived by: "Age is a state of mind, and if you don't mind it does not matter."

She is survived by her loving daughter, Katherine E. Bianchini of New York, NY and son, William I. Bianchini of Port St. Lucie, FL; her loving grandchildren, Sheri E. Conboy of Greenwich, CT, Billy Bianchini, Joseph Bianchini and Linda Bianchini of Port St. Lucie, FL.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18 from 3 to 6 p.m. at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Highland Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main Street, Highland Falls, with Rev. Jack Arlotta officiating. Interment will follow in Peacedale Cemetery, Highland Falls.
