I have very fond memories of Sam while spending part of my childhood in Marlboro with my grandparents (Sam's Uncle Ted and Aunt Mildred Partington). I had spoken with Sam a couple of months back, and we talked about old times and the changes that have occurred in the town of Marlboro. I'm just sorry we didn't get the opportunity to visit, as we had discussed. You will be missed Sam, my man!

Sam was my neighbor and became my friend, as we kept in touch through the years, long afer I had moved out of my apartment behind the Ship. Our cats used to pal around together. I know how much Freddy meant to him. To this day, we always sent each other Christmas Cards signed with our pets names. I will miss corresponding with him. I am glad we stayed in touch and I am glad to have known him.

We remember Sam & his brother Johnnie from years ago when some Newburgh girls used to hang out with some Marlboro guys. Sam was always ready with a smile, or a helping hand, and he was one of the sweetest people we'd ever known. We are so sorry that he passed so young. We often talk about those days, and Sam is always mentioned. No matter how crazy and wild we were, Sam was the calm in our storm. Rest in peace, Sam.
