David Kirkcaldy Obituary

Campbell Hall, NY

David M. Kirkcaldy of Campbell Hall, a chemical engineer for the Orange County Department of Health, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hosptial, Newburgh Campus.

The son of Mitchell Kirkcaldy, Ralph A. Higgins and Flora D. Higgins, he was born on October 18th in Springfield, MA.

Before working for Orange County, David also worked as a chemical engineer for Champion International in West Nyack, International Paper in Sterling Forest and Lederlee Labs in Pearl River.

He was a former member of the Sloatsburg Zoning Board of appeals and was presently serving as the Chairman of the Hamptonburgh Zoning Board of Appeals.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Kirkcaldy at home; his mother, Flora Higgins of Longmeadow, MA and his children, Karen Laforge and Robert Kirkcaldy, M.D. and his wife, Ellen of Decatur, GA, as well as his grandchildren, Michael and Thomas Laforge and Sofia Kirkcaldy and one nephew.

Visitaion hours will be held from 3-6 p.m. today, July 27 and from 9-10 a.m. Monday, July 28 at the Lippincott Funeral Chapel, Inc., 107 Murray Ave. in Goshen, NY.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 28 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hamptonburgh Cemetery in Hamptonburgh, NY.
