Louis Ritondale Obituary

Standfordville, NY

Louis P. Ritondale, 94, of Stanfordville, NY and a former resident of Millbrook, NY, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck of natural causes.

Born in Tuxedo, NY on February 26, 1914, he was the son of Joseph and Aguilena Rittendale.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Ritondale trained show horses and traveled to Europe with the U.S. Equestrian Team for the Olympics. Louis continued training horses at Winley Farms in Millbrook for over 40 years until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and was a former longtime member of Millbrook Golf and Tennis Club.

Mr. Ritondale is survived by two sisters, Antoinette "Ricky" Tanner and Philomena "Philly" Pelzer, both of Suffern,NY, and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters, Carmella Antonelli and Evelyn Salemo, and a brother, Frank "Jack" Rittendale.

There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date from Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, NY.

Memorial donations may be made in Lou's memory to Dutchess County SPCA or to your local SPCA.
