Robert Kuhar Obituary

Ellenville, NY

Robert A. Kuhar of Ellenville a resident since 1954, and a former kitchen staff employee at the Ellenville Regional Hospital, died Friday, August 29, 2008 at Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility, Liberty. He was 77.

The son of Alfred and Mary Kobut Kuhar, he was born August 18, 1931 in New Brunswick, NJ.

He was a member of the Church of St. Mary and St. Andrew, Ellenville, the Pioneer Engine company, #1, Ellenville and VFW Post #1455, Ellenville. Robert worked for the U.S. Post Office in Ellenville as a letter carrier and as a security guard for various hotels in the area, and served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his four children, Scott Kuhar and wife, Luise of Ft. George Meade, MD, Susan Snyder of Ellenville, Robyn Somers and husband, Thomas of Huntsville, AL, and Robert Kuhar of Ellenville; five grandchildren, Steven, Alicia, Erin, Lauren, and Kelsie. He was predeceased by a daughter, Tammy Jo Kuhar and a sister, Rose Marie Kuhar.

Friends may call at Loucks Funeral Home, Inc., 79 N. Main St., Ellenville on Saturday, September 6, from 2-4 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, at the funeral home. The Rev. Randolph Yerkes will officiate. Burial will be in Fantinekill Cemetery will take place at a later date.

Bob Kuhar - the worlds nicest guy. I knew him all my life through my parents and never heard him say a bad word about anyone. Rest in peace, Bob. My condolences to the family.
