Dear Adam and Matt,
We are so very sorry for your loss. We will always remember the good times at Pleasure Lake with our neighbor Steve. He showed us how to live as he fought, against all odds, for another day. We wish him peace.

To the family of Steve Smith. We have known Steve for many years from Pleasure Lake. Our cabin was across the Lake from his. Although we have not been members in about 15 years, we do have many years of fond memories of Steve and 'camp'. Please know that you have our most sincere sympathy. Steve was very dedicated and fun to be around. He will be missed by many!

We have lost a true friend who was very near and dear to us here on Pleasure Lake. Whether working on lake business or just hanging out, there was always laughter and the matching of wits. I ( June) will always remember those sparkling blue eyes and grin, his boston accent and his big generous heart. Steve and I shared a special bond and i am blessed to have shared time with him in this world. I will carry him in my heart forever. June and William Voegelin

I knew Steve for a long time through our lake association. I worked with him on the Bd. of Directors and watched his leadership skills. Steve and I became good friends over many years. He was a challenge sometimes, but that was because he lived life, participated in helping all of us enjoy the lake and he was never afraid to express his opinion. I've been praying that God would take him home...He had gone through so much suffering. Steve is a man who will not be forgotten. Be with God, Steve.

Adam, Matt, Tom and Maryanne-
I have lost a friend of 57 years and most importantly a special friend for the past several years. Steve always had a smile and a wonderful laugh. Our 45th class reunion is in 3 weeks and he will be dearly missed by all of us. I am glad to have had the chance to have dinner with him once more in July which was our last get together of many. Goodby my "Ole Pal",as we refered to each other. Love, Joy Mondeau Lovell

I am so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. Steve and I were best friends in our early years in EB. We sayed overnight at each others house and spent way to much time fishing on Forge Pond. Steve was born the day after me and hated it when I would tell him I was older than him.
I cherish the opportunity I had in mid July to have dinner with Steve at a "Fish Shack" in Mattapoiset. It meant a lot to me then to spend time with an old, dear friend; it means so much more today. Steve will continue to be in my prayers.
