Ernest Harth Obituary
Ernest "Ernie" Harth of Woodbourne, died on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 77.
The son of the late Ernest and Anna Dristel Harth, he was born on January 11, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY. He was the widower of his wife, Catherine.
Ernie served our country in the U.S. Airforce 483rd Motor Squad during the Korean Conflict; he was a retired heavy equipment mechanic; a teamster of Local Union #560; a driver for Fallsburg Poultry; a member of the TriValley Lions; a member of the Grahamsville Reformed Church, and an avid Mets fan.
Ernie leaves behind his loving companion of 23 years, June Schmitz, at home; four daughters: MaryAnn Harrop and her husband, John, Deborah Costa and her husband, Joe, Monica Smith and her husband, Leslie, all of Woodbourne and Paula Ryan and her husband, Mike of Neversink; one son, Ernest, Jr. of Woodbourne; a step-daughter, Dawn Schmitz of Long Island; a step-son, Richard Schmitz of Kansas; one sister, Betty Brehm of Queens; seven grandchildren: Erica and Lisa Costa, John Harth, Leslie and Shawn Smith, Michael, Jr. and Matthew Ryan; two step-grandchildren, Tiffany Gooding and Bridgett Schmitz, both of Kansas; two step great grandchildren, Trey Coykendall and Cade Gooding of Kansas, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one granddaughter, Catherine Harth.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 25, at 11 a.m. at the Grahamsville Reformed Church, Route 55, Grahamsville, NY. Rev. Paul Z Ruter will officiate. Interment will follow at the Woodbourne Reformed Cemetery, in Woodbourne.
Memorial contributions in Ernie's name may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, PO Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720 or the American Heart Association, 419 E. Main Street #309, Middletown, NY 10940.

Our Grandfather was a great man. He would always take us where ever we wanted to go. He always kept our familly laughing. When grandpa was around, you could always count on having fun. In any time of need, Our grandpa was always there to help or lend a hand. He will be deeply missed and be in our hearts forever. We love you Pop-Pop.

Dad,
Although you weren't my biological father,you were my "dad". And that is so much more special. it is so hard to believe that you are gone. We are all going to miss you so very much, however, we know you are in a better place and you are with one very special angel, Catherine your granddaughter and right beside God, that makes it a little more easier to accept.
