Dorothy Melvin Obituary
Dorothy E. Melvin of Cornwall, NY, entered into rest on October 30, 2008, at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. She was 82.
The daughter of Alexander Gray and Mae Handwerk Gray, she was born May 5, 1926 in the Bronx, NY. She was the widow of David Melvin, who predeceased her in December of 1994.
Dorothy was a retired receptionist with MacBeth Co. in New Windsor, NY.
Survivors include her sons: William Melvin and his wife, Marlene of Fishkill, NY, Robert Melvin of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY, Daniel Melvin and his wife, Rebecca of Cornwall, NY; two daughters, Doreen Lippin and her husband, Herbert of Ft. Lee, NJ, Donna Shaddak and her husband, Dennis of Oswego, NY; grandchildren: Carolyn and Laura Shaddak, Brittany Melvin, Margaret Melvin, Timothy and Abigail Melvin.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Monday, November 3, at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Dan Russell officiating. Cremation will be in Cedar Hill Crematory.

We were neighbors growing up and I remember your Mom very much. She was a sweet kind and caring person who never had a bad word for anyone. I have many happy memories spent at your home.

I WORKED WITH YOUR MOM AT MACBETH. GREAT GREAT LADY. SHE USE TO DO A MONTHLY POEM IN THE MACBETH NEWS LETTER UNDER THE NAME DITTY BY DOTTY. SHE WAS PRETTY GOOD. I WILL ALWAYS HAVE GOOD MEMORIES OF HER. NOW SHE IS IN THE BEST OF HANDS AND WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU. GOD BLESS AND REMEMBER THE GOOD TIMES.
