Enrico Sergi Obituary

West Bridgewater Enrico V. Rick Sergi, age 76 years, of West Bridgewater, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Life Care Center in Raynham, after a long illness. He was the husband of Carol A. (Robinson) Sergi for 48 years. Born Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1931, in Brockton, he was a son of the late Anthony and Maria (Carmela) Sergi. He was a lifelong resident of Brockton, graduating from Brockton High School, Class of 1952. Mr. Sergi had lived for the past three years in West Bridgewater. He worked for Bay State Gas Street Department for 38 years. He was a member of the Utility Workers Union of America, Local 273, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1952-1956, serving on U.S. Navy sub, USS Tirante. He enjoyed fishing, drawing and woodworking. In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by his four children, Lori Gowell and her husband Richard of West Bridgewater, Peter Sergi and his wife Cheryl of Taunton, Paul Sergi and his wife Paula of Brockton and Christopher Sergi and his wife Leanna of Middleboro; nine grandchildren, Jacob Sergi, Patrick Sergi, Christopher Gowell, Marc Sergi, Allyson Sergi, Kelsey Gowell, Nicholas Sergi, Ryan Sergi and Ayla Sergi; a great-grandson, Nathan Sergi; and his brother, Joseph Sergi and his wife Eleanor of Taunton. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Aug. 24, at 5 p.m. at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton. Memorial visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ricks memory to Beacon Hospice, 45 North Main St., Fall River, MA 02720.
