Susie Sebilian Obituary

Susie Sebilian BROCKTON Susie (Akeke) Sebilian, 84 years, of Brockton, died Oct. 11, 2008, at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late George Sebilian. She had been a lifelong resident of Brockton, daughter of the late Peter and Sadie (Norman) Akeke. For many years, she had been employed as a seamstress for Lewiston Ltd. and London Clothing in Brockton. Following World War II, while volunteering for the USO and various Veteran's Affairs Medical Centers, she met her one true love George, whom she later married and started a family. Susie continued to volunteer at Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, in Brockton, for many years. She was a member of the Womens VFW Auxiliary Post 1046 and a communicant of St. Margaret and St. Patrick churches. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed crocheting and scratch tickets. She is survived by two sons, George Sebilian Jr. and his fiance Sharon Einstein of Bridgewater and Joseph Sebilian of Brockton; her nieces and nephews, Peter Akeke and Roseann OConnor, both of Brockton, Cindy Conrad of East Bridgewater; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was the sister of the late Husep, Ferris, Rose and Mary Akeke and Nora Rodophele and aunt of the late Richard (Akeke) Ferris, Marie Bevis and Martin Akeke. Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Thursday, at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 9 a.m. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Donations in Susies name may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St., Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
