Mary Bailey Obituary

Mary L. Bailey TAUNTON Mary L. (Denault) Bailey, of Taunton, died Thursday, Oct. 16, in Morton Hospital, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late George S. Bailey. She was born 76 years ago, in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Leo V. and Edith A. (Livesey) Denault. She was educated in New Bedford and was a graduate of New Bedford High School and the Kinyon-Campbell Business School. Mrs. Bailey had been a Taunton resident for the past 50 years. At the time of her illness, she had been employed as a sales representative for Macys Department Store in the Westgate Mall, Brockton, for 24 years. She was previously employed at the former Jordan Marsh Department Store in Brockton. She had also been employed as both a waitress and a hostess at the former Gondola Restaurant in Taunton and had also worked at the former Town and Country Restaurant in Assonet and at the Continental Screw Co. and at St Lukes Hospital, both in New Bedford. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed visiting Twin River in Rhode Island, cooking, especially at the holidays, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Taunton. She leaves two daughters, Donna Dowd and her husband William of Mansfield and Debra Walsh and her husband Daniel of Taunton; one brother, Leo J. Denault of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; one sister, Elizabeth McDermott of Somerset; five grandchildren, Brendan Dowd, Carolyn Walsh, Jack Walsh, Brycen Dowd and Joseph Walsh; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St., Taunton, Monday, Oct. 20, at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church, 249 Whittenton St., Taunton, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, from 5 to 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Taunton Western Little League or to the Taunton Animal Shelter. Mary was such a sweetheart. I worked many of years with her at Macy's. She will be greatly missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. My thoughts and prayers our with her family.

I just want to say to her family what a great Lady Mary was. I met her at Macy's and enjoyed working with her. There was never a day where her smile and personality made my day special. I will never forget her. She loved her family, and
