Frederic Pudsey Obituary

BRAINTREE Frederic H. Pudsey, 88 years of age of Braintree Highlands died on Wednesday June 18th, 2008 at Copley at Stoughton Nursing Facility after a long illness. He was born in Quincy and had been a long time resident of Braintree. He was a retired truck driver for Mills Transfer Company in Charlestown. He was a member of Teamsters Local 25. More recently he had been a courtesy driver for Good Brothers Auto Firm in Weymouth. He was a WWII Army Veteran who served from 1943 to 1945 as a Sergeant. He was an infantryman and received the Combat Infantry Badge. He served in the Rome-Arno Campaign, the North Appennines and Po Valley in Italy. He received the America Theater Medal and The European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with three bronze battle stars. He was an active member of the Braintree Veterans of Foreign Wars in Braintree Square. He was a car buff and a member of the Sports Car Club of America. He was also a member of the Blue Devils of the 88th Infantry Division Association. He is the former husband of Lena (McNaughton) Pudsey who lives in Florida. He is survived by three stepsons; Kenneth Lloyd of Marshfield, Douglas Lloyd of Hanson Dwayne Lloyd of Randolph and a stepdaughter Mary K. Davis of Holbrook. In addition he is survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck- Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, BRANTREE on Tuesday, June 24th at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Scott Killian, Pastor of the South Congregational Church will officiate. Burial with military honors will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. Visiting Hours will be at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be sent to the Alzheimers Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown Ma 02472.

Mr. Pudsey,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the U.S. Army in Italy during WW II as a Combat Infantryman with the 88th Infantry Division which saw continuous combat against the Germans in some of the toughest fighting of the War from the early Spring of 1944 through to when the Germans in Italy surrendered on May 2, 1945. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
