Doris was one of my hero's. I shall always value and remember her laughter, her generous spirit, her ability to love deeply the many God brought her way. I loved her commitment and joy in her family. I am thankful that the one who rewards us promises to multiply the blessing we have been many times over in the next life. I know her cup is running over. May God bring great comfort to you.

Doris was one amazing person....She was a lover of God and lover of people, and she radiated love wherever she went. She was always looking for opportunities to give it away, and she made the most of every one of them. She will truly be missed.

Dear Ed, Jean, Miriam and all Doris' beloved family,
Though Doris is now gone from us here on earth, the ways she enriched my life and all those who knew and loved her, will continue to live on.
I was touched by her warmth, generousity and love for her family, friends and strangers. She lived, laughed and loved well.
I will especially always remember my last visit with Doris in January that turned into a real old-time hymn fest. Her love of the Lord always brought laughter and joy to those around her.Her life was a powerful testimony to her rock solid faith in God and to the hope of the eternity she knew she would one day spend with Him.
My sincerest condolences to each of you. May God richly bless all of you with His love, peace and hope.
With love & prayers,
Carol Smith

DEAR ED, MIRIAM AND JEAN,
SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS, AND MINE. DORIS AND JESUS WERE BEST FRIENDS AND I WILL BE FOREVER GRATEFUL AND HONORED TO HAVE ALSO BEEN BLESSED BY HER FRIENDSHIP.
I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO HOUSE SIT IN THE "LAHAGE PLYMOUTH MANSION" WHILE THEY WENT TO FLORIDA, AND CONTINUE HER HOME PRAYER GROUP. SHE WAS ALWAYS A PRAYER WARRIOR.
IT WAS SAD WHEN I WAS ASKED TO HELP CLOSE THEIR SOUTH MEADOW HOME FOR THEM, KNOWING THEY WOULD NOW BE PERMANENT FLORIDIANS. I AM SO HAPPY THAT OUR LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP CONTINUED ACROSS THE MILES.
MY LAST VISIT WITH DORIS IN FLORIDA HAS FILLED MY HEART WITH FOND MEMORIES THAT WILL LAST FOREVER.
AS I DRINK MY COFFEE IN ONE OF DORIS'S PINK COFFEE MUGS [FROM SOUTH MEADOW], I WILL REMEMBER HER AS SUCH A DEAR AND SPECIAL FRIEND.
"SEE YOU IN HEAVEN DORIS".
PRAYERS AND HUGS TO HER PRECIOUS FAMILY. LOVE YOU ED, DONNA

Dear Ed, Miriam & Jean,

We were so blessed to have known Doris.

From the first time we met her at home group at the Collagans, we were charmed by her laughter & ever-cheerful spirit; then challenged by her joy & her boldness in sharing the love of Christ so freely.

We have such lovely memories of our friend to cheer us.We want you to know that you are all in our prayers at this difficult time.

Dear Ed, Jean and Miriam,
We know that Doris is singing and dancing with the angels, and probably leading the chorus. She made an impact on all of us. We loved her and will miss her humor, kindness and generous spirit.

Doris truly made a difference in the lives of her students and colleagues. She made Cohasset High School a better place by being an advocate for students who were physically or academically challenged. Her wonderful humor, dedication to her beloved business department, and professionalism made her a role model for her fellow teachers. I will remember her with great fondness. Peace to you all.

Dear Ed, Miriam and Jean,

Jim and I have so many fond memories of you and Doris. Without Doris' inviting our gray heads to that first Vineyard home group, we might not have 10 years of memories with the gang! Doris was a true evangelist, sharing Jesus with so many. Her laugh, her smile and her "only if you want to" will remain in our hearts forever. God's peace to you in this time of sorrow. Remember though Doris is now rejoicing in the presence of Jesus whom she loved so much! Love,

Dear Ed, Jean, and Miriam,
What a shock to hear of Dorie's passing. While her physical body, the tent she dwelled in, is gone, her true essence is unconquerable. One can't count the number of people whose lives have been positively touched by Doris' humor, concern for others, and zest for life. God's peace to you all. Affectionately, Don Reade

Dear Ed, Jean, Miriam and all the family.. We will miss Doris immensely. We have so very many fond memories of Doris. She was always such a giving person who loved the Lord. She would go down to Plymouth Harbor and talk to strangers about Jesus. She truly was HIS ambassador! She was a gatherer who loved inviting people into her home for good food and fellowship. She introduced us to "Bubble and Squeak". I remember when my husband had ankle fusion surgery in FL and she was there in the hospital with me at midnight! And so many, many other times. It's not possible to list them all. She will be remembered by all whose lives she touched in many special ways. Love, Louise and Frank

Mr. Lahage, Jean, and Miriam,
I am sorry to hear of your loss.
I have such fond memories of high school (and perhaps from college, too) and Doris (although I never called her anything but Mrs. Lahage), visiting the house in Hull as well as the 3 different Cohasset houses and even the house just off the Mass Pike. Boy it seems like you moved alot but I don't remember it feeling like that then.
Doris always had a smile and a laugh, and I am sure she wondered where Jean and I always went for our "field" trips during the school day.
My thoughts are with you all at this time. Fondly,
Meredith
