ARROYO SECO, NEW MEXICO Elizabeth B. Kemp, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away in Taos, New Mexico on September 11, 2008 at the age of 88 after a period of failing health. Betty was born in Pueblo, Colorado and volunteered for the American Red Cross during World War II in the South Pacific. She lived in Hingham, MA for nearly 20 years and then for almost 30 years in Plainfield, CT. She was a justice of the peace and performed many weddings at her lovely antique colonial bed and breakfast, the Isaac Shepherd House, in Central Village (Plainfield), CT. She held several degrees and was always an advocate of education and learning and has volunteered at several libraries. Betty leaves behind her daughter, Laura LaFlamme, with whom she lived for the past three years in Arroyo Seco, New Mexico and her son, John Kemp, of Irvine, California. Mrs. Kemp,
Maam, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the American Red Cross serving our men in the Pacific during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
