John and I were cousins on our mothers' side (Motherways). His mother an my mothers came to Massachusetts from Ireland in the 30's. I first met John many years later when I was doing some research on our family; he was very generous and helpful in sharing information that I never would have found without him. John was very warm and welcoming to me, and together we found common links in our families and especially in an older family member, "Peg" (who turned out to be my godmother); since she was in a nursing home and had no living relatives, John and I shared joint guardianship for Peg until her death several years ago. John was a giving and loving person; I only wish that we had met sooner and that he had stayed here longer. Bless you, John. Your cousin, Arlie

Fr. John is my cousin on my Dad's side. John helped me with a family history project and in recent years provided me with invaluable information and many photos of our family. We became very close during our collaboration through our correspondence and regular phone calls. He and I had so many wonderful conversation and as a former philosophy major I loved his spiritual insights. With his passing I've lost the last known living link to that side of my Dad's family. But with John I found a kinship that will endure. I regret that he'll not be there when I return to Massachusetts next year. And I regret that the CD I promised him, of our group singing Faure's Requiem, never reached him. It was in the mail to him as he passed. May the angels sing for John in Paradise.

Rest in Peace, John. I will never forget you and your wonderful friendship. You helped me more than anyone as I entered the world of adulthood.
So sad, you and my mother both left this world this year.

What an inspiring man! His last homily at St. Thomas More has stayed with me through all these years. May he rest in the peace he so deserves.

I will miss Father John greatly. He was a man of deep spirituality and always spoke of his love for Jesus. He was very intelligent, always aware of world events and had a unique perspective of their connection with the Word of God. He was so gentle, humble, kind and filled with compassion. He also found great joy in his companion kittens. He will be missed by many. Rest in peace dear friend.
