Gloria J. Earls

EARLS, Gloria J.
Age 63, of Lowman, died at her home on Thursday, November 1, 2007, with her family by her side. Gloria was born August 9, 1944, daughter of the late Edward W. and Genevieve Dandrea Devitt. She is also predeceased by her brother, Edward C. Devitt. Gloria is survived by her husband, John M. Earls; sons and daughters-in-law, Martin E. and Lynette Cartwright of Elmira, Michael J. and Yvette Cartwright of Thombal, TX, Robert J. Cartwright of Portland, ME, and Christopher A. and Jackie Cartwright of Portland, ME; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Robert and Sylvia Devitt, and Sandy Devitt, all of Elmira; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Gloria was a graduate of Elmira schools. She had held various positions with Chemung County and retired in 2005 with 25 years of service. Gloria was an avid reader and loved the outdoors. She and John enjoyed their time together camping and fishing. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Sunday, November 4, 2007 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 5:15 p.m. Committal prayers and interment will take place at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
