Ida Johnson Obituary

JOHNSON, Ida P.
Age 75, of Elmira, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Ida was born August 24, 1932, a daughter of the late Ray and Anna Brown. She is also predeceased by her husband, John S. Johnson. Ida is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Edith P. and Gerald Higgins, Mary Anne and Donnie Fleming, all of Elmira; grandchildren, Stephanie (Justin) Clark, Heather Higgins, Tracy (Michael, Jr.) Palombizio, John Fleming, Rebecca Higgins (with Raymond Pfeil), Debbie (Joseph) Storch, Stewart Pfeil, Codie Fleming, Dustin, Christin and Lisa Higgins, Mackenzie, Brandi, and Lily Fleming, Marquise Meeker, Ava, Sophia, Logan, Kolby and Isaiah Fleming, Scott Whitecotton and John Malone; eleven great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Virginia Brown of Elmira; sisters and brother-in-law, Margaret and Paul Norton of Dushore, PA, Flora Burdick of Elmira; along with several nieces and nephews. Ida retired from Anchor Glass in 1990 with 30 years of service. She enjoyed going out "hunting" for treasurers with her metal detector, playing cards and doing her word search books. A loving mother and grandmother, Ida enjoyed her time spent with her family. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Saturday, November 17, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. Ida's family would like to give special thanks to the AOMC ER Staff for the love and support given to her family.

What fond memories I have of Tracy's grandma. She was always so patient and kind with all of the young girls that spent so much time in her home.
She will be greatly missed.
