SOWERSBY, Carlos J. "Skip"
Sacramento, Calf. & Corning, N.Y. Carlos J. "Skip" Sowersby, 60, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2007 at home with his loving wife, Pamela at his side. Skip served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1966 to 1972. He was retired from Simmons-Rockwell, Inc. as a finance manager. He is survived by his wife Pamela Wood Sowersby; daughters, Michelle (Roger) Freas of Elmira Heights, N.Y., Amanda Markell of Elmira, N.Y.; grandchildren, Kyler and Drake Freas of Elmira Heights, N.Y.; brother, Gary (Shirley) Sowersby of Painted Post, N.Y., Hiram Sowersby of Corning, N.Y., Jennie (Richard) Hoyt of Painted Post, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Ronald (Diane) Wood of Corning, N.Y., Sandra Barber of Calif., several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends; faithful pet companion, Sally. He was predeceased by his parents Donald and Doris Tadder Sowersby; sisters, Georgia Minkler, Donna Probst, Olive Fey, Ernestine Iddings; brothers, William Sowersby, Kendall Sowersby. Services will be held Friday, November 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Water Street, Painted Post, N.Y. Pastor Gary McCaslin will officiate.

Pam, please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Uncle Skip was a great guy and he will be missed by the Hoyt family. Peace be with you and I pray God holds you close during this difficult time.

I will forever be "The Weiner" thanks to Poppy Skip.
He is like a brother to me, and you Pam are not only Skips special angel, but mine as well.
Thank you.
I will cherish our memories and good times.
I'll never forget him riding beside me, big smile on his face, swaying back and forth and singing Happy Wanderer. Nor will I ever forget having him up to our home while he was still on California time! It was a long, long, night, and Billy & I enjoyed every minute of it.
