We have just today learned of Dawn's untimely death. We are in shock. We didn't know her well, but did have interaction with her in her position with the diocese. Our hearts are heavy and our prayers go out to her family and friends who must be going through much travail over her loss. Know that we are praying for you and that we knew Dawn to be an exceptional person, full of love and commitment to her faith and to the diocese of Austin.

I used to work with Dawn at First Commercial Bank. She was always laughing and being so funny. I was so happy when she was getting married, so happy when she was going to have Hannah, and so heartbroken now. What a shock. She was a wonderful, caring person. She will be missed.

Dawn was a beautiful, kind person. I don't have a single memory where she isn't smiling or laughing, most likely both! Your families will be in my prayers through this difficult time. She will be missed by many.

Dawn,
Your friendship was a blessing. So many are stunned and saddened by your loss. Your smile could light up any room, and I know that your joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of your family and friends. We love you!

To the Havalda & Hogan families,
Dawn was a gift to more people than she realized. She truly was one of the most caring, compassionate, and loving people I knew. Just two weeks ago, when I was struggling on my daughter's first day of day care, she sent me an email that began, "I wish I could come by and give you a BIG HUG (SQUEEEZZZZEEEEEE)." I collected on that hug the next day when I went by her house to visit. I am thankful that I knew her, and I share in your grief at her loss.

You all will be in our thoughts and prayers daily. May God bless you and bring you peace.
