Paul Marth Obituary

MARTH, Paul W., 87, of Lakewood Manor, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 20, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Alice Marth; sons, Paul E. Marth and his wife, Phyllis, of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Brian P. Marth and his wife, Pamela, of Richmond; sisters, Helen Davis of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Mary Taussig of Manhattan, Kansas; grandchildren, David B. Marth and his wife, Allison, and Kristi J. Marth; numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Leininger. He served in the South Pacific during WWII in the U.S. Navy, and retired from Service Master Industries after over 30 years of service. He was a member of Derbyshire Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following his funeral service. A celebration of Paul's life will be held 10 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2008, at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Monticello Memorial Gardens, Charlottesville, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International or Derbyshire Baptist Church, Senior Adult Ministries.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Marth's passing. I am a volunteer at Lakewood Manor and enjoyed playing dominoes with him. You all are in my prayers. He will be missed.

Paul, Phyllis, and Family,

Sorry to hear of Mr. Marth's passing. I have been there myself and it's not an easy thing to get through. However, we know the God of all comfort, don't we? Praying He will be your strength in the days ahead and that His peace will surround you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
