To JB and the entire family:
I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Peggy was an Angel that God called home and she will always live in our hearts. She and JB once said to me, "once you meet a Friend, you have "friend" forever." As a fellow teacher, I had many reference books but Peggy sparked my interest in novel reading. She was in a book club and I joined the same one. Each time I order a book, I think of her and thank her. Its been many, many years since I've seen the family, but fortunately, Peggy and I spoke early this summer. We spoke of our common ailments and ended our conversation with praises to God for his many blessings. Peggy was one classy lady and I will miss her.

Jim, you and your daughters have our deepest sympathy and prayers for healing from the tremendous loss. Peggy was a wonderful lady, dynamic, determined and talented. As classmates and fellow English majors at Va. State, we spent memorable years together and became good friends. I was proud to have been a bridesmaid in your and her wedding. While our careers and families took us to different locales over the years, I cherished our occasional phone calls and annual Christmas greetings -- Peggy's card always signed "Peace be with you." I now ask that God extend His peace to you. Peggy is at peace.

There is no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal, no burden that He cannot bear. Dr. Waddell, as you remember your mother, rejoice in knowing that God has given her the gift of eternal life and the legacy and memories that she leaves on this earth live on through her family and loved ones. I encourage you to hold true to your faith during this difficult time in your life. Just know that there are persons who are thinking of you and keeping you in prayer and I am one of them.

There a no words to express sorrow that you feel at this time. Take comfort in knowing that she had some very special angels to guide her on the way home. Know now that she suffers no more, and will always be the angel at your side. You are forever in our hearts and prayers. We will be there should you ever need anything, anytime, and any place.

Mrs. Friend lives on. This is not a period at the end of this mortal sentence; it is a comma that lifts her to loftier heights in eternity with Christ. She has a marvelous legacy.

Dr. Waddell and family: I am sorry to learn about the passing of Peggy Ann Drewery Friend (Dr Waddlell's mother). I have first hand knowledge of the special bond and the exceptional connection there is between a mother and their child. I see it in my wife's eyes every day. I know any words that I say right now can not heal the pain and grief, but we both know God can. My prayer for each of you this morning is..........Father God, You are the creator of all things, the source of each blessing we receive, and you are there for each of us during times of trouble and hurt. I thank you for always being there for me no matter what I face, and for being there for Dr Waddell and each family member during this time of loss/grief. I know you have and will never fail me, even in my most intense trials and I know you will not fail Dr Waddell and each family member now. I thank you for being by their side and being their close friend. Dear Lord, please remove all the sorrow and grief they feel. Heal the pain they feel in their heart and help them to trust you even more that they do now. I ask that you fill the empty place in their heart with more of your Spirit. Thank you for being faithful to Dr Waddell and her family members. l ask these things in the name of your Son and my Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen

Our deepest sympathy to the family for the loss of a wonderful person.
Peggy, as we knew her, was a very unique person and always prepared for everything, even to her death. Peggy was able to do many things during her life and she will be long remembered for those many things. She was a very loving wife who was very loyal to her husband, a dedicated mother, child, sister, aunt, Delta and friend. She will truly be missed here on earth. However, Peggy had already made her plans for her heaven bound life and now she has started her new life in heaven.
God Bless the Family,
Helen, Joan, Marietha, Hilda and Families
