Halen Niceley Spencer

SPENCER, Halen Niceley, left this earth to be with Jesus on August 29, 2008. Helen was a resident of Morningside in Richmond, Virginia. She was formerly of Buena Vista, Virginia, where she was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church and participated in many charitable activities. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Spencer; her parents, Louis and Ann Niceley; her sisters, Jean Niceley and Evelyn Turnage and husband, Henry Turnage. Surviving are her nephew, Walter Turnage and wife, Mary Sue; great-nephew, Brian Turnage and wife, Michelle, and their sons, Justin and Brandon, all of Richmond. Also surviving is a great-niece, Mary Anne Kennedy and husband, Alfred, and their sons, Aiden and Alfred of Savannah, Georgia; and a very special, loving friend and caregiver, Tammy Reynolds, who has been with Helen for the past five years. A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Furgerson officiating. Interment will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 1, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Christ Episcopal Church in Buena Vista or to your favorite charity in Helen's name would be a cherished remembrance.
