To the family of Bessie Layne. Our deepest felt sympathy goes out to you. I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Bessie was always such a kind, thoughtful and reliable friend. She always helped the parents out at the bus stop with the deaf kids, especially me. I don't know what I would have done sometimes without her and Charles. My only regret is that I found out too late and was unable to pay my respects. Please accept my apologies but I'm just finding out. You'll were blessed with a very special mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. I know she's watching over you.

To the family of Bessie Layne(Frog), I was so shocked to hear of her passing. I will never forget the times that my family and her family had when I lived in Richmond as child on the southside(10th St.). I will always remember her hardy laugh and the fun we had with both of her sisters and brother. May God comfort the family. Diane may God continue to bless you.

To the family of Bessie (Frog),
Our sincere condolence goes out to all of you. God blessed your family with an open hearted, caring and loving person, Bessie loved and cared for all the people she met and with her love and caring soul she made life better for so many. I know your hearts are heavy now, but what she showed us all, threw her life is that giving to others is rewarding to our lives. Be blessed and our prayers are with you all.

To The Family and Friends: You have my sincere condolences on the loss of Bessie. Bessie has been a part of our lives for so long that it's going to difficult imagining it without her. She was also Tina's god-mother. Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer.
Below is a poem that touched our hearts:
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

To the Family and Friends, especially Charles, Dana, Tremaine, Dante', and Travon. My heart is filled with sadness at your loss of Bessie. I can not imagine the pain you feel now but I wanted to let you know that my thoughts are with you.
Bessie was more than my friend, she was more like my big sister.. Although we were different in some ways, we were so much alike in many othe ways. Distance and time took us in different directions through life, but we were always close. Even though the time I spent with Bessie was all too infrequent, when we were together our bonds were reinforced by the simplest of hugs, laughter and strolls down memory lane . She made me welcome no matter what was transpiring in her life, no matter how busy she was, and, in recent time, no matter how ill she was. I will forever cherish the memories of the times we spent together.
Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. Know that I am with you during this time of grief. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the Family of Bessie (Frog) Back in the day she was known as Frog, a good friend and someone you could always count on. Even if someone past away you could count on her calling and letting you know. Marcella and I were talking today and she said she was mad with Frog, because she didn't call her to let her know she had past. But we know you are looking down on us with a smile on your face and a laughter in your heart. We will truly miss her but we know that she is in a better place. With a glorified body where no sickness or disease can dwell. We miss her but she will forever be in our hearts. Hold on to God's unchanging hands. The Rock-Barbour Family
