Hansford "Will" Wilson

WILSON, Hansford "Will," 61, of Richmond, died September 15, 2008 at a local hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Richard Wilson and Carolyn Watts Wilson, formerly of Richmond. He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Wilson of Charlottesville, Va.; his brothers, John R. Wilson of Woodstock, N.Y., and Waller H. Wilson and his wife, Sandy, of Front Royal, Va.; sister, Mary Dabney Wilson and her husband, Darryl Lanford, of College Station and Austin, Texas; nephew, Todd Wilson and his wife, Carol, and their two children, Jillian and Evan, of Silver Spring, Md.; niece, Karen Buerkle of Austin, Texas. He was very involved with his church, Second Presbyterian. He was a captain of the usher team, past deacon, and helped with any activity as needed. He was committed to activities and organizations that provided care to the homeless, and was the church liaison for CARITAS. He took great pride in his belonging to Clan Gunn of North America. He was the present commissioner of the Chesapeake Region of Clan Gunn. His life revolved around Scottish festivals and games. He was a true lover of bagpipes and other Celtic music. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 18, at Second Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to CARITAS, P.O. Box 25790, Richmond, Va. 23260.
