Dear Shan and Family: Deepest sympathy is extended to you during Ruth's homegoing . I pray that God will continue to strengthen and keep you. I regret I was not aware of Ruth's failing health and truly regret I was not there to provide some assistance of care for her. I sincerely regret that I was not present during her homegoing celebration. Please remember that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal and also, to be absent in the body is to be in the presence of the Lord. Ruth was such an inspiration to me and as you know over the years as our lives changed, we had not been in touch. I think the last time we chatted, we ran into each othe on Broad Street. I will forever remember Ruth's love and support during some difficult times in my life. I truly admired her as she was a source of strength which helped me to overcome some difficult situations. As you may recall, I met Ruth when she was a nurse at McGuire VA Hospital and under her leadership, we became friends and I was inspired to further my career in the health care profession. Ruth was a good nurse! I learned of Ruth's death last week and was sad to know that she had transended this world. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I can be reached at 737-1561.

RUTH STEPHENS ARVIN Mother your love is everlasting and enduring. Your calming smile and soothing words moved mountains. Your embrace calmed me when I was hurt, frustrated and mistreated. When I shifted careers you were there encouraging me to want more for myself. When I graduated from high school, my undergraduate degree and then my Master's degree you were there with dispatch to cheer me on. I know as I move through life without you your words of wisdom will continue to lead and direct me to success. I love and will miss you, and have been enriched through your loving embrace. Love Shan

Ruthie Mae is what I called you. You fought a tough battle for so long. We know that you were fighting so hard just for oursake. We were so selfish in asking you to hang in there because we didn't want to face life without you. You were such a kind hearted person and God said he needed someone like you to work in His Kingdom. I'm grateful that you are no longer in pain. You and I grew up like sisters and we had our differences but we were always there for each other in the time of need. Rest in peace my love and know that I will always have love in my heart for you.
Love you always,
Helen
