Dorothy S. Bellanca

BELLANCA, Dorothy S., 66, of the 4400 block of Sir Johns Lane, Virginia Beach, went to be with her Lord and Savior September 20, 2008. She was born in Harrisonburg, Va., and was the daughter of the late Oliver and Goldie Wenger. Dorothy was a travel agent exclusively for the Hawaiian Islands. Through her passion, she shared the beauty of her paradise with so many people over the years. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Carmen A. Bellanca; two daughters, Tina Ridgeway and husband, Mark, of Virginia Beach, Va., and April Yoder of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; a sister, Helen Layman and husband, Wilbur, of Harrisonburg, Va.; a brother, Sheldon Wenger and wife, Evie, of Harrisonburg, Va.; and three grandchildren, Christiana, Andrew and Christopher. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Thalia Lynn Baptist Church, 4392 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, Va. by Pastor Prentis McGoldrick. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, 1457 Independence Blvd., Virginia Beach, Va., on Friday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association, 7507 Standish Place, Rockville, Md., 20855.
