SMITH, Mary Currier, 79, of Richmond, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008. She was the beloved daughter of the late Jerry and Grace Currier of Norfolk. She recently retired from 31 years of devoted service to Henrico Doctor's Hospital, Parham Campus. She was preceded in death by husband, Clyde Rudolph Smith and brother, Jerry Currier Jr. of Norfolk. She is survived by two children, daughter, Irene Smith Baldwin (Ronnie) of Chesapeake, and son, David Rudolph Smith (Vickie) of Glen Allen; two granddaughters, Tammy Baldwin O'Neal and Emily Victoria Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Kyle Nicholas Baldwin-Langrehr and Alyssa Mackenzie Baldwin-Langrehr. The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, P.O. Box 6359, Glen Allen, Va. 23058-6359. Burial private.

Miss Mary with the flower behind her ear will always be remembered. I still expect to hear her announce visiting hours are over at 9pm. She will be missed.

Ms. Mary was a very special person. She always had a smile for us when we were leaving the hospital. She touched many lives at Henrico Doctor's Hospital, from the employees to the patients and their families. Your family is our thoughts and prayers.
