I am so sorry to hear about Mitch. I went to Beulah Elementary with him and remember all the funny things he would do. He kept our class laughing. I was a very shy child but got great joy out of Mitch's daily antics.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

To the Dudley family:
I offer you my deepest condolences. I spent many great days and nights with Mitch both on the baseball field and off. I'll always remember Mrs. Dudley cheering at every game.
Be sure that those memories will be with me forever.

MY NAME IS CARROLL MADISON, 87 YEARS OLD, & A FORMER RICHMONDER, LIVING IN FLORIDA.
I HOPE YOU WILL READ THIS AS A MEANS OF SOLACE OF YOUR DEAR ONE'S LOSS.
I WAS A FRIEND OF HIS FATHER, BILL DUDLEY, & BILL'S BROTHER, GEORGE DUDLEY. THEY LIVED IN THE 1900 BLOCK OF WEST CARY ST IN A TWO FAMILY HOUSE. I LIVED AT THE CORNER OF MEADOW, & CARY ST ON THE SAME BLOCK. THE DUDLEYS LIVED UPSTAIRS, & THEIR MOTHER'S PARENTS LIVED DOWNSTAIRS. I RECALL THE GRANDFATHER WORKED IN A BOOKBINDING BUSINESS ON BROAD ST. FOLKS, THIS SCENARIO WAS DURING THE DEPRESSION YEARS OF THE 20's & EARLY 30's. BILL, & GEORGE'S MOTHER PLAYED GUITAR, & SANG BEAUTIFULLY. WE THREE KIDS WERE CLOSE BUDDIES PRIOR TO PUBERTY, & WW 2. I JOINED THE NAVY AT PEARL HARBOR, & LOST CONTACT WITH MY TWO GOOD FRIENDS AFTER THAT. I LEARNED OF GEORGE'S DEATH IN THE TIMES DISPATCH SOME WHILE BACK. I READ IT DAILY ON MY COMPUTER.
