Mary Davis Morris

MORRIS, Mary Davis, 92, of Ashland, the widow of Elmer H. Morris, passed away on October 2, 2008. She was preceded in death by Frank C. Patch and their son, Carter Lee and his wife, Shirley W. Patch; Joseph P. Arthur and their son, Thomas G. Arthur; and his son, Joseph A. Arthur. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra L. Dunford; two sisters-in-law, Catherine Davis and Carrie Davis; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was an active member of Hunton Baptist Church and Hunton Civic & Recreation Association. She worked for the Library of Congress for 25 years in Washington, D.C. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008 in the Nelsen Funeral Home's Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hunton Baptist Church Building Fund, 11660 Greenwood Road, Glen Allen, Va. 23059.
