What is in a name ? I guess that depends on what name you're using or being called at the time. For all the names that I've used or been called, my own name is the only one that I prefer. My name is special because of what it represents. It holds strength, Honesty, Love and compassion in every letter. When I received my name I was unaware of these traits and the power that my name holds. As a small child it seemed as though I was always somewhere doing something social where there was allot of singing going on. Strangers, that knew my name, always greeted with kindness and care as if I came from somewhere very special. As time went on I became very fond of my name and what it represented. I found myself walking in similar footsteps of the man for which my name came from. As a teenager I began to notice how similar my actions and mannerisms were, from my entrance to a room saying " Hey ", to the kindness I felt compelled to give to others. I feel honored to have my name because my name is Holder.

In my life Frank Holder was more than just a grandfather. He was my template for life, how to be, who to be and what being a man was all about. He was a man of emotion, never scared to shed a tear, or give a hug, or tell me that he loved me. Seemed like he was always full of love. I have many memories of our time spent together. When I was little he would come home from work and we would smell our socks and talk about how hard we had both worked all day ( I was 3 ) He would take me around to do odd jobs, never knew he was working, just thought we were hanging out doing stuff together. At church everyone knew him, it was kinda cool being the grandson of a man so well known and liked. Didn't really leave much room for getting in trouble. In my years growing up with him I cant think of one time he was ever mad or upset with me, not to say there weren't any, he just handled it with grand fatherly love.

I will miss him, more than words can express. My loss today is unlike any other for I shall not hear his voice again.
