RAMSEY, Henry Lee, 71, of Burkeville, died Monday, October 13, 2008. He was a native of Charlotte County, Va., and the son of the late Jesse Lee and Eva Betty Jennings Ramsey. He was a retired Telegraph Operator of five years and a dispatcher for C&O Railroad of 43 years. He was an avid fisherman and duck hunter and a collector of old records, telegraph equipment and loved music, especially bluegrass. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frankie D. Ramsey of Burkeville; daughter, Wanda Stephenson and special friend, Earl Mayton, of Sutherland; sons, Ronald W. Ramsey and wife, Joette, of Glen Allen, and Robert Anthony Hudson of Blackstone; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three sisters and one brother, several nieces and nephews. Services will be private. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 26508, Richmond, Va. 23261. Condolences may be registered to www.jtmorriss.com.
