JARVIS, Kathryn Santos, of Charleston, S.C., formerly of Richmond, Va., widow of Wilfred Anthony Jarvis Sr., died peacefully at her home on the evening of October 19, 2008 in Charlston, S.C. Mrs. Jarvis was born October 9, 1918 in Charleston, S.C., the daughter of Carroll Anthony Santos and Theodora Graddick Santos. She was a graduate of Bishop England High School and Rice Business School. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, a former Board member of the Carter May Home, and she volunteered at the Neighborhood House on America Street in Charleston, S.C. She was predeceased by four siblings, Carroll Santos, Francis Santos, Louis Santos, and Dolly Santos Calvert. She is survived by nine children, Robert B. Jarvis and his wife, Cheryl, Wilfred A. Jarvis Jr., J. Michael Jarvis and his wife, Cristy, Elizabeth J. Pritchard and her husband, George, all from Richmond, Va., and P. Emmett Jarvis and his wife, Patricia, J. Dennis Jarvis, Joyce M. Jarvis, Kathryn Nelson Anderson and her husband, Stephenson, Timothy M. Jarvis and his wife, Sally, all from Charleston, S.C. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Wilfred Anthony Jarvis Sr. of Charleston, S.C., and her son, Carroll B. Jarvis. She is also survived by four brothers, Marvin Santos, Robert Santos, Craig Santos, and Emmett Santos; one sister, Charlotte deVillier and her husband, Alex. Mrs. Jarvis had 20 grandchildren, Craig A. Jarvis, Erin J. Jarvis, Caston Jarvis, Louis A. Jarvis, Sarah B. Jarvis, Carey J. Garrison, Virginia J. Atwood, Elizabeth K. Jarvis, Margaret J. Grimes, Maria C. Jarvis, J. Michael Jarvis Jr., John D. Jarvis, E. Cade Nelson, Robert P. Nelson III, Taylor N. Nelson, Susannah S. Nelson, T. Eliot Nelson, and Amelia J. Nelson. She had four great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday at Mrs. Jarvis' home, 1 King St., #609, between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. There will be a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 120 Broad St., Charleston, S.C. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to: The Neighborhood House, 77 America St., Charleston S.C. 29403 or to Food for the Poor, 6401 Lyons Rd., Dept. 9662, Coconut Creek, Fla. 33073 (or visit www.foodforthepoor.org). We are sorry to hear about Aunt Kathryn. We saw her on our visit to Charleston in 2005. She was such a happy and nice lady.

We are so sorry for your loss. Your Mother was a very fine,giving ,caring christian woman. Pat's mom also passed the same Sunday. I Know your mom was faithful untill death therefore she has received the crown of life.
