Dean Alan Jarvis, 59, of Madison, Mississippi, passed into the presence of Jesus surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 14, 2025, in Jackson. He was born February 22, 1966, in Jackson, to Carroll Edward and Billie Jo Jarvis. He was known by family and friends as a quick witted, kind and compassionate man, and a faithful friend, always putting others first. His final act was to think of others, requesting that upon his death, his organs, eyes and tissues be donated. Dean married the love of his life, Lynn McGraw, on July 4, 1997. During their 28 years of marriage, they enjoyed life together, taking vacations to the beach, road trips, a good meal, good music, and "junking" as Dean added to his collection of antique radios. He enjoyed phone conversations and visits with friends Melton and Sid. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1989 with a degree in Business Administration and spent over 30 years employed by the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services. His strong voice and the ability to connect with listeners led to part-time DJ work at area radio stations for a few years. In addition to his wife Lynn and puppies Dexter and Gracie, Dean is survived by his siblings, Carol Jo Jones (Bob), Lisa Moore, and Eddie Jarvis (Kris); his aunt, Judy Jarvis, father-in-law Carol McGraw, and in-laws Banks McGraw (Karen), Kent McGraw (Angel), Lisa Hancock (David), Claire Gibbs (James), Kaye Hilderbrand, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Dee and Billie Jarvis, brother-in-law Wes Moore, uncle Robert "Cob" Jarvis, and mother-in-law Carolyn McGraw. His puppies Rip, Max and Greta were always fondly remembered. Visitation will be held Monday, November 17 at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency (MORA), 4400 Lakeland Drive, Flowood, MS 39232; to the Webster Animal Shelter, 525 Post Road, Madison, MS 39110; or to your favorite charity or church.
