WILSON, Elmer D., 89, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 20, 2008. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothy Kinton Wilson; daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn W. and Arnold A. Horner; granddaughter, Kelsey; sister, Edith Hobbs and her husband, V. Lawrence Hobbs Sr., of Stony Creek; one niece and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert E. and Madge Ryder Wilson; sister, Eileen Gasser; brothers, Herbert E. Wilson Jr. and Mark E. Wilson. Mr. Wilson served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the South Pacific and was a retiree of Universal Leaf Tobacco Company. He was a faithful and devoted member and Deacon Emeritus of Second Branch Baptist Church. Elmer enjoyed his membership in the Red Men Organization, was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Beach Hunt Club. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). His funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to Second Branch Baptist Church's Library Fund, 12217 Second Branch Rd., Chesterfield, Va. 23838.
