It seems so odd that I would be writing here... it doesn't seem right that Mama isn't here. I feel like I'm in this dream, this horrible dream. I want to wake up and know that is was just that... a bad dream.
However, I have confidence and assurance from the Holy Spirit that Mama is in Heaven. I was granted that peace the night of her passing as I prayed to God, "Thy will be done" then asked for His comfort through His word. I was directed to Psalm 103:2-6 and it was there, beyond a shadow of a doubt that I was assured that Mama had been taken from her 'pit' and given her 'crown of love and compassion'.
I still call the home number every now and then, when Michael's at work.. just to hear Mama's voice on the answering machine. It's like she's out on one of her many errands and she'll be back soon...but I know that's not the reality of it.
I miss her so much. Our children miss her terribly, too. Though I am grateful that she is no longer here to suffer in this cruel world.. the selfish part of me wishes to have her here still. It was indeed a shock to hear of her passing as I had just spoken to her hours before about John (my husband) taking James (my brother) back to school from his drill weekend. The sudden passing of her life is but a gentle reminder to us that we are all vapors.. here for but a few moments at the allowance of God's mercy... to serve His will. Not that He is a cruel God by any means, but one in control of all things, at all times. For this I have much peace and am thankful that I believe and know I will see her again when I too, go home.
I love you Mama, always have and I always will!
Your loving daughter,
Jennifer
