Nannie Balderson Brooks

BROOKS, Nannie Balderson, 86, of Tappahannock, died Friday, October 24, 2008 in a Richmond Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Berkley C. Brooks; and her son, R. Wayne Brooks. She was a faithful member of Beale Memorial Baptist Church. One of eight children, she was a daughter of the late James and Annie Skelton Balderson and was the last surviving child. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Betty Ann Brooks of Savannah, Ga.; two granddaughters, Anne Tyler (Mike) McCabe of Lynchburg and Sarah Beth (Dan) Gay of Wilmington, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, including five of which she helped to rear, several great-nieces and great-nephews, including one devoted. A special thanks to all family, friends, neighbors, nurses and doctors at Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital. Nannie was a very special person and will missed by many. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time.
