To the Glaude Family,
I graduated from High School with Ted Glaude in Newport News, VA. Although it is a fact of life, we all grow apart and go in different directions, I have always tried to keep in touch through family members, the whereabouts of most of my classmates. (Only 37 of us). I was saddened to learn of Ted's death. My sincere sympathy to all of you and may God be with you.

As we pass through this plane of existance there are few we can call "friend" who will be there with you through the good times and bad times, who know us like no others, even our spouse, but continue to stand by us. Ted was this to me. We were friends from high school, and got really close in college and continued throughout our lives.
Alice Ann, if there is ever anything you need or want, all you have to do is let me know and I will make it happen.

Teddy was one of the kindest, most decent men I have had the priviledge to know. He was not only a good police officer, he really cared for those around him. His presence and his example will be missed. My condolences to his loved ones. ERSJR - HPD/Retired

I was fortunate to work alongside Ted for several years. He was considered an outstanding Police Officer and a fantastic person by all. He did so much more than just providing a service for the County. Ted knew and took care of those who lived within the neighborhoods he patrolled. He will be greatly missed.

Ted was "rock solid." It was a pleasure to work with him. He always looked out for the new guys and you could always count on him

The first time I met Ted was just after being hired as a dispatcher some 23 years ago. He caught me and my girlfriend (now wife) parking of all things and thought it funny to call in my name over the radio; you can imagine what it cost me! Ted exemplified what it meant to be a police officer and will be sorely missed.

WOW. I remember the fingerless gloves, Ted checking doors, and him driving across a lawn to help me at a foot pursuit. Ted was the nicest guy around. Thank you for your service, you'll be missed...

Ted was a good Police Officer. He treated the people that he came in contact with compassion and kindness. Ted can easily be compared to Barry Maham, who Ted worked with prior to his death in 1978. Ted will be missed.
