Brenda Grubbs Hodges

HODGES, Brenda Grubbs, 49, of Goochland, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, with her family at her side. Born in Louisa on June 4, 1959, she is the daughter of Lola Cosner Grubbs Morse and the late Wesley Grubbs. Brenda was a 1976 graduate of Louisa County High School, retired as a bus driver after 13 years from the Goochland County School System, was a member of Perkins Baptist Church where she also belonged to the W.O.M. and the W.M.U. She loved the Lord and knew him as her Savior. She loved her family and was very proud to be Mrs. Herbert Hodges Sr. She is survived by her mother and her husband, Sonny, of Louisa; her husband, Herbert D. Hodges Sr.; a daughter, Alisha G. Fields and her husband, Brandon, of Shannon Hill; a son, Herbert D. Hodges Jr. of Goochland; and a grandson, Cole Freeman Fields. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday November 1, 2008 in the Perkins Baptist Church in Goochland, with Pastor Tim Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Perkins Baptist Church in Goochland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the W.O.M. c/o Perkins Baptist Church, 3146 Hadensville Fife Road, Goochland, Va. 23065.
