LORRAH, Louise Amos, 88, of Richmond, passed away October 28, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Minnie Amos. She was preceded in death by her sister, Anne Wolfe; and brother, William Lavaga Amos. She is survived by her son, James C. Phelps; a grandson, James C. Phelps II (Josie) of Orange County, Calif.; a great-granddaughter, Zoee Alyssa Phelps; two sisters, Margaret Kessler of Jacksonville, Fla., and Rebie Farnham of Richmond; a niece, Alice Louise Shoff. Louise retired from the U.S. Postal Service Headquarters in Washington, D.C., with over 30 years of service, where she established many lifelong friendships. She was an avid reader and gardener who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was characterized by her generosity towards her family and friends. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. A memorial service will be held at Springfield Christian Church in Rockville at a later date. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Cox Road, Suite 130, Glen Allen, Va. 23060.
