Clyde R. Roy

ROY, Clyde R., 88, of Richmond, Va., formerly of Fredericksburg Va., passed away October 30, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Henryka Roy; children, Dr. Raymond C. Roy and his wife, Connie, Thomas H. Roy, Penny Woodberry and her husband, Bob, Dr. Dennis R. Roy and his wife, Holly, Dr. Clyde R. Roy II and his wife, Karen, Theresa H. Reininger and her husband, Randy. He is also survived by grandchildren, Katharine, Taylor, Sydnor, Steve, Wren, Ashley, Craig, Doug, Alison, Eric, Brennan, Julie, Jenny, Richard, Ryan, Robin; 14 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Madeline Young. He was a Mason and a 30-year retired U.S. Navy veteran CWO-4 (Medical Corps) from January 1939 until March 1969, having served in WWII and the Korean conflict. He was also a former Director of Licensure for the state of Georgia following his retirement from the Navy. A memorial service will be held at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, Va. 23113, on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contribu-tions may be made to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, 875 North Randolph Street, Suite 225, Arlington, Va. 22203-1977.
