TURNER, Thelma Louise, 89, of Chesterfield County, departed this life on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Louise was born in Crozet and spent most of the early part of her life in Fredericksburg, Richmond and Lawrenceville. In her later years, Louise moved with her husband to his birthplace in Chesterfield County. Louise loved the Lord and lived her life to honor Him through prayer and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Louise also loved her family, and nothing pleased her more than gathering together to share fond memories and laughs with her loved ones. Louise was an avid gardener, a talented artist and a blessing to others. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Nolton W. Turner; her sisters, Pauline Grasty, Mable Grasty, Berendine Grasty, Virginia Lee Black, Truman Gurney, her twin sister, Lillian Nougaret; and her brother, Ernest Grasty. Louise is survived by her sister, Wanece Frazier; her son, Ronald Turner; her daughter-in-law, Diane Turner; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 6, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Bliley's - Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2008, at the Turner Family Cemetery, 12420 Bundle Rd., Chesterfield County, Va. 23832. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4335 Cox Road, Glen Allen, Va. 23060.

I will always remember Miss Louise as having a smile on her face and praise for the Lord on her lips. She always had an uplifting word for me when we met at the mailbox. She will be missed.
