George Scott Gresham

GRESHAM, George Scott, 82, formerly from Richmond, passed away Friday, November 7, 2008 in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Born on May 29, 1926 in Danville, Kentucky, he served in the U.S. Army as a member of the 69th Infantry Division during World War II and was honorably discharged, married Chlorus Ann Massey, and graduated from the University of Kentucky. After graduation, he joined Reynolds Metals Co. in Richmond, Virginia where he enjoyed a successful career as a metallurgical engineer until his retirement. Scott was a member of the North-South Skirmish Association with the Richmond Volunteer Militia, a member of the Richmond Chapter of the Early Ford V-8 Club, and a volunteer at the Virginia Aviation Museum. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Lucy Ann Gresham. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ann; daughter, Jane and husband, Steve Fortner of Doylestown, Pa.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Butcher, Katherine Alford, Jennifer Mylius, Kristin Fortner and Scott Fortner; and four great-grandchildren.
