Jim, we have fond memories of you and Mary when you lived in Staunton and were friends of Giff and Marney's. We were sad to hear of Mary's death but know the Lord holds her in His hands. Love, Pat and Gordon Mabie

Mary and I used to be members of the same Bible study at the Chapel. She was like a mom to all of us new mothers: always encouraging without rolling her eyes at our ignorance. She always had a common sense, practical understanding of life.
When she was going to I believe it was Salem for eye surgery, we were so worried about her surgery. She just smiled. Instead of talking about her surgery, Mary told us how she was looking forward to visiting with some old friends who lived around Salem. Mary was grateful for our prayers, but preferred to dwell on the pleasure of going to see old friends. When she came back, all she could talk about was how wonderful it was to catch up on old friends and how nice everyone in the hospital had been.
I'm sure you have missed Mary since she has been ill and now that she has died. She was a lovely lady. Even more important, Mary loved the Lord. She is with the Lord now, where she truly belongs. There's no more pain and illness for Mary. Mary can finally experience first hand the glory of her Lord!
I am very sorry for your loss of Mary. Her life meant a lot to a lot of people. I am sure that this loss hurts. But, Mary is where she belongs now with her Lord.

Our sympathy is extended to the great family of Mary. She was one of the first to welcome my mom, Ethel Whitten, to Patriots Colony and was a faithful encourager and frequent visitor with my mom until her stroke prevented further visits. My admiration and respect is given to Col. Love for his loving, caring, faithfulness and dedication to Mary until she departed. May God continue to bless all of the family.
