Evelyn Zaban Benson

BENSON, Evelyn Zaban, 96, of Richmond, born in Atlanta, Georgia, died at home November 10, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Karl E. Zaban; and husband of 62 years, Sidney. She is survived by her two daughters, Medora Benson Glantz and Jo Benson Fogel; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many other extended family and friends in Richmond and throughout the United States. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond, Va. A graveside service will be held at Hebrew Cemetery, 5th and Hospital Street, at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 13. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Jewish Family Services, 6718 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23226, the Cairns Aquatic Fund at the Weinstein JCC, 5403 Monument Ave., Richmond, Va. 23226, or a charity of your choice.
