John Huddleston Obituary

HUDDLESTON, John Morton Jr., of Buckingham, went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2008. "Morton", "Moe", was born on December 27, 1929. He was the son of Ola Trent Huddleston and John Morton Huddleston Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Stout Huddleston; a son, John Morton Huddleston III; his father, John Morton Huddleston Sr.; and a brother, James Milton Huddleston. He is survived by his mother, Ola Trent Huddleston of Buckingham; a daughter, Katie Toney and fiance, Burley Hudgins, of Buckingham; two sons, Tony Huddleston and wife, Tammy, of Buckingham and David Huddleston and wife, Robbin, of Louisa; eight grandchildren, Kristy, Kandace, Scott and John Toney, Toni Beth and Meghan Huddleston, all of Buckingham, Justin Huddleston and Ashley Lewis of Louisa; a brother, Joe Huddleston of Buckingham; four sisters, Zanie Jamerson, Sue Maxey and Mary "Kat" Butler, all of Buckingham and Betty Puett of Powhatan. Morton was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was retired from Pepsi-Cola and Allen's Ambulance Service. Morton enjoyed farming, growing his big garden and spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved Christmas. A celebration of Morton's life will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church in Buckingham with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, Buckingham County Rescue Squad, Dillwyn Fire Dept. or The Nerancy Neuro Intensive Care Unit at the University of Virginia Hospital, P.O. Box 801436, Charlottesville, Va. 22908. Dunkum Funeral of Dillwyn is in charge of services.

HE WAS AT MY DADS FUNERAL IN 2003 AND I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER
HIM HE AND MY DAD WERE FIRST COUSINS AND I REMEMBER VISITING

Mort as Kage called him will always be remembered as a treasured friend and "adopted" grandfather. From going to auctions together to just sitting and talking, I could always count on him to say what was on his mind. He was a real treasure for a pastor. Morton, We will see you later!!
